Alanah, a Lower Sixth pupil at Uppingham, has just been selected for the Wales U21 Netball Squad.
A dedicated Sports Scholar, Alanah is a shining star in Uppingham’s netball squad. Her recent selection sees her entering her third season with the Wales U21s, having represented Wales from the age of 14 and achieving Silver with the Wales U17s in the Netball Europe U17 Championships 2019.
Alanah has already represented Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and Aspire Elite, as well as being part of the Loughborough Lightning competition squad for the last four years.
Due to the disappointing cancellation of the 2021 Netball World Youth Cup – due to be held in Fiji in October – the Welsh team will instead be competing in a tournament in Sheffield this July, where they will face the England U19s and U21s, as well as the Scotland U21s. The squad will then play against the senior Wales side a few weeks later.
We are very proud to see Alanah go from strength to strength in her netball career, having already achieved so much at such a young age. Her hard work and dedication are incredibly admirable, and we look forward to cheering her on later this month.
