Lulu, a Lower Fifth pupil at Uppingham, recently won the 2021 Midland Girls Amateur Championship, which took place on 29 June in Stoke Rochford.
In her first World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) event, Lulu came out swinging and took a three shot lead going into the third day of competition, after shooting 74 on the first day and 78 on the second.
Having shot 79 on the third day, the competition ended in a tie for first place, resulting in a playoff between Lulu and a very advanced competitor.
The playoff began with a half-in bogey followed by a half-in par, with Lulu going on to win the third extra hole with an up and down for par.
Over the season, Lulu has shown great dedication to the Uppingham golfing team, and we are immensely proud that she got a thoroughly deserved win. This is a truly outstanding achievement for a player of such a young age as Lulu now enters the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Congratulations, Lulu!
