Edward Clayton, Lower Sixth, has been selected to play for the England U17 North division at the upcoming RFU U17 North / South Festival which is taking place at Gibraltar Barracks in Camberley, Surrey at he beginning of March.
This success comes on the back of some successful seasons at Uppingham, in 2017-18 Edward was a member of the awesome Uppingham U16 7s squad who had an extremely successful season; they won 19 our of 20 matches and reached the last 32 at the Rosslyn Park National 7s. Alongside his School commitments Edward also plays for Northampton Saints Academy.
This is the first year the U17 North / South Festival has taken place, it is part of the RFU's rejuvenated Age Grade Pathway. The aim is to give the England Pathway staff the opportunity to see around 50 boys in action. Success at the Festival could lead to an invitation to join the RFU's U17 development camp in Newcastle, with the camp leading up to the U18 season which begins with a tour of South Africa in August.
