November 9th 2018
As the nation marks the centenary of the end of the World War I, we will particularly remember the 461 Uppinghamians who gave their lives in the Great War, together with all of those who fell in this and subsequent conflicts.
On Sunday 11th November from 3.30pm in the School Chapel, the name of each of the soldiers will be read by 461 current Uppingham pupils, in a poignant tribute to those who lost their lives. There will be a fitting backdrop on the lawn adjacent to the Chapel, where 461 ceramic poppies crafted by pupils represent each of the fallen.
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them
