The life of a 21-year-old former Uppingham School pupil was remembered, through a sport that she loved to play, on Sunday 5th May.
Family and friends of Amelia Roberts formed a lacrosse team called the 'Amelia Allstars' to play against the England under-23s team.
The England team was on terrific form and really inspired our pupils, whilst at the other end of spectrum, two mixed novice teams had great fun trying their hands at the game for the first time. It was a really tremendous day, full of energy and positivity, and was extremely well supported, raising plenty of funds for the Epilepsy Society.
Amelia, who had been captain of the lacrosse team, died just before Christmas from her epilepsy. She was middle sister to Lily and Kitty, both OUs.
Alex and Kate Boyd-Williams, who were Mia's Houseparents at Uppingham said "Mia was an incredible young person who was always kind, always positive and always courageous. We were honoured to be part of an occasion to help raise funds for the Epilepsy Society, in aid of incredible young people like Mia."
Throughout her life, Mia found support from the Epilepsy Society who carry out important research into this disorder.
